The digestive system parts

a) Pharynx: Is a region located where the oral and nasal cavities meet. It is works for the passing of air and food.

b) Esophagus: The wall of the esophagus is composed of four layers (inner to outer): mucosa, sub mucosa, muscularis propria and adventitia, reflecting the general structural organization of the entire gastrointestinal tract. Food carrier that makes no digestion.

c) Mouth: is located at the beginning of the human body's digestive tract. It has salivary glands and makes physical digestion.

d) Stomach: is an expanded section of the gastrointestinal tract between the esophagus and the duodenum of the small. The stomach is on the left side of

the abdominal cavity with the most superior part laying against the diaphragm. The stomach carries both physical and chemical digestion.

e) Small intestine: The small intestine is coiled in the center of the abdominal cavity.

Duodenum receives bile and pancreatic juice

Jejunum – absorption of most nutrients, make enzymes for all chemical digestion of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, ileum of few nutrients

f) Large intestine: The large intestine, which is about 5 feet long and 2.5 centimeters in diameter, extends from the ileum to the anus. It consists of the cecum, colon, rectum, and anal canal.

g) Rectum: is located in the lower abdomen and is the last section of the large bowel. Rectum takes place in evacuation process.

h) Anus: is the external opening of the rectum. It is located between the gluteus maximum muscles.takes place in evacuation.
