“In the End” Rhyan Murphy It’s two in the morning and you’re up as always Sleep refuses to come And your mind is singing the same song it’s always sung It sings of anxiety and self-doubt Oh, the troubles your mind brings about You try to shake it off, hoping sleep temporarily stops your swimming brain But sleep once again you shall not gain As a sorrowful symphony plays off-key in your head When the sun sets your insecure skin just doesn’t seem to shed And all of the negative thoughts you’ve been fed mock you And everything about you feels horribly ugly. But in the end, you are beautiful In the end, you, matter. Don’t let them be the ones to let your self-esteem shatter And when those nights happen where every negative thing comes to mind Try to leave those thoughts behind And leave room for positive ones Because after all, after all of the darkness you’ve faced… You deserve to see the sun. 34
