A Glorious Day

The red flower poked out of the darkness to greet me,
Its radiant beams emanating pleasure and warmth.
As my obscure vision became more clear and vivid,
I peered outside my window,
Finding myself fazing at a glorious day.
Without a thought in the world, I strolled along my mother’s garden,
Soon finding myself encompassed by flowers of all different hues,
And trees that swayed to a constant rhythm.
The warm summer breeze brushed past my face,
Bring a floral fragrance so sweet that I giggled in utter delight.
The delicate butterflies and bees danced with grace,
Accompanied by the birds’ melodious voices,
Resonating throughout the entire neighborhood streets.
I marveled at the glorious world surrounding me,
In awe of the beauty I was beholding.
Upward I soared on the swings,
My feet grazing the azure sky and touching the heavens.
Freedom never felt more wonderful.
My imagination steered me in any direction it desired.
One day I was a bird, gracefully gliding across the sky.
Another day I was sliding blissfully on Saturn’s rings,
Viewing earth from a distance.
When the sweet aroma of homemade apple pie wafted into my nostrils,
The illusions faded and slowly back to reality I returned.
My stomach urged, pleaded, and prayed,
