The Tea n Coffee shop
Andrew Chen
Walking through a set of doors
into the scent of Coffee n Tea.
return of old memories and dreams.
Gliding towards the open seat
And feeling the beat of the feat;
Softly rolling in one’s years
thu-dum, thu-dom
Softly rolling in ones years
and tugging one’s eye like a motherly lullaby
I ordered a cup of tea.
Not too dull nor to thick
chrysanthemum, Jasmine,
red tea, green tea and mint
all the delightful choices
but just one word catches my eyes
Jasmine, Jasmine, Jasmine…
the word that summons memories.
that girl in the white dress
White, flowing and elegant
we met in the scent of Coffee n Tea
for day’s we played and jumped around
Like sparrows in a summer day
I awaken from memory as my tea is brought
I gazed at the cup as a tear dropped down
and took just one sip
Just one, not two nor three…
