Lamp.
You are my inspiration.
Even on the most frigid nights of winter,
And the dampest days of spring,
On the most scorching days of summer.
And the emptiest nights of fall,
You are there for me.
I now praise you lamp
For giving me the courage to keep on trying;
To keep on studying;
To keep on working to be the best human being I can be.
You illuminate not only my room,
But my thoughts, as well.
You have been with me since the beginning,
And I want to thank you for that, Lamp.
Your sheer reflection,
Can inspire a nation,
To get out there,
And do what they, themselves, want to do.
I can try to describe you in words, Lamp,
But words cannot describe the wonders you’ve inspired.
