An Ode To My New Bed
Justin Fisher
Every night, a sanctuary awaits
when I enter my room
My sweet getaway from the real world
I sink into the plush mattress and pull the covers
of my new bed up to my nose
Soft as if sleeping on an alpaca an
as comfortable as if laying on a cloud of cotton
It is the one corner of the universe in
which I have the power to drift into another state
When my new bed replaced the old one
it was large and intimidating
But after I spent my first night in it
I knew I could never go back
My new bed makes the old bed
feel like a hard, wooden floor
My new bed sucks me in
like a vacuum sucks in dust
When I lay on it
Its like floating through the sky
It is a magical place, a place to rid my stresses and dream
It offers me a place of peace and that is all I need
