An Upside Down World Esther and Antisemitism | Page 96

STILL , JOY Cantor Katie Kaplan
Right beneath my nose you sit , joy , cross legged in lotus pose . I breathe in catching your scent . My lips draw upward at the corners , hinting at a smile .
Often illusive , you hide in plain sight , obscured by grievances , but always with me , awaiting my attention .
Pain and sorrow circle above , wings spread , talons sharp , and still you stay accompanying me .
Uncertainty abounds everywhere , except for the place where you sit . Ever present . Ever constant .
Asking only that upon remembering , I return again once more to you .
