when a bunch of teenagers lower their guard. A few others mingle with human, acting like
they’re one of them.
So far so good. He does this once a year yet the responsibility of leading the pack and make
sure no one messed up, is hovering around him. Blame it to his tendencies to impress Hades.
(Wonwoo has no idea how the proud smile always painted across his dad’s face when he’s
talking about him)
“You should be friends with the granny,” Soonyoung says, pointing at the house behind them.
“She only hands me and Jihoon loads of candy corn.”
Jihoon shrugs, already tearing open the chocolate bar wrappers. “I’m not complaining. I’d eat
it if you don’t want to.”
Wonwoo chuckles, finger scratching on his furry beak. “Not sure I can eat properly with this
face on.”
“Change back, you look awkward,” Jihoon says, waving the half-eaten chocolate in his hand
in front of his face. “Your normal face is scary enough to make someone stay away from your
sight.”
“Soonyoung made me,” even with his blank daemon face, they can hear the whine from
Wonwoo’s voice.
“You always do whatever Soonyoung told you to do,” Jihoon points out, earning a snort from
Soonyoung.
Wonwoo shifts back to his normal look. Staying in his daemon form is fun when he’s at the
war, the terrified look on his enemies’ face when they saw him is truly a sight to drink in. But
it’s been quiet for a few decades, so he kind of forgets the feel of wearing his daemon form.
He leaves the black antlers on the top of his head, though. For Halloween purpose.
They walk leisurely along the street, exchanging stories and memories. Halloween is the only
time where they can actually spend some time together without being occupied with their
duties. It’s always hard to pin each other’s location in daily occurrence. Only Wonwoo who
truly lives in the Underworld, at the Hades’ palace where everyone calls him prince and bows
down whenever he passes by. While Soonyoung lives in Duat, a limbo between the world and
Underworld; where he compares the weigh of a soul with a feather and decides if they can go
to Hell or Heaven (Though honestly there’s not much different between the two, Soonyoung
says so). Jihoon is the nomadic one, he lives where he likes. Sometimes he stays between
human for months, or just lands himself in an estranged place. He is even familiar with Jotun-
heim, since he’s half giant.
(Soonyoung once asked about his height despite having Jotun’s blood running on his veins.
