his fingers was his fate? It might be just the effect of the accident. Maybe his mind hadn’t
been completely awaken. But still, he couldn’t deny how bad he wanted this hand to stay, to
not let go.
They walked around the museum, went to all sections that Wonwoo hadn’t visited, and picked
up flowers from the backyard. Soonyoung ran around the garden and Wonwoo chased after
him. They played like a couple of kids, smiling ear to ear, and laughed loudly, gleefully like
no one would hear them.
Soonyoung sat down under the maple tree, surrounded by the falling bronze-coloured leaves,
and Wonwoo followed him. “It’s strange, isn’t it? How we can be this close as if we’ve known
each other for the longest time.”
“I know.”
Suddenly, they heard strange footsteps behind them. As they turned around, they saw the
guard of the museum. Wonwoo was horrified, shit, are we getting caught trespassing? And he
got another shock when Soonyoung suddenly grabbed his hand and pulled him to hide. But
before they could hide behind the tree, the guard pointed his flashlight to both of them. The
guard walked closer to them and Wonwoo tried to think of some excuses.
But before he got one, the guard unexpectedly walked through him.
Silence fell.
“The Mayor should pay me double for patrolling alone after the party.”
Wonwoo couldn’t process anything. He couldn’t think clearly, but he couldn’t help but to
question about what just had happened. The guard walked through him and he didn’t see us.
Wonwoo turned his head to Soonyoung and saw him biting his lips, trembling.
“Soonyoung, do you know about this?”
There was no answer from Soonyoung. He put his head down until Wonwoo couldn’t see his
face.
“I will…”
The high pitched voice was gone, and it changed into the delicate voice Wonwoo had became
familiar with.
“I will explain everything.”
