PLANTERS INN CULTURAL CROSSROADS All Planters Inn guest rooms and suites are furnished with stunning Baker Historic Charleston Collection reproductions, including handcrafted four-poster plantation-style beds. The Baker expertise in meticulously re-crafting history’s finest furniture is especially evident in the Historic Charleston collection. Based on thousands of hours of research and design, each piece is inspired by the era’s original furniture and is produced in cooperation with Historic Charleston Foundation. Established in 1947, the Historic Charleston Foundation is dedicated to preserving and protecting the built environment of Charleston, the largest repository of 18th and early 19th century architecture in America. Etchings from Elizabeth O’Neill Verner and prints from John James Audubon adorn the walls, while handsomely trimmed window treatments frame views of the jewel box city.
