Foster who took command of 384-ton whale ship , “ Wilmington and Liverpool Packet ”, replacing Captain Alexander Russell who returned home ill during voyage to Pacific Ocean . Homeport of ship is New Bedford , Massachusetts , Owner – Agent J . A . Parker & Sons . Sailed to Pacific Whaling grounds , November 14 , 1833 , and returned May 13 , 1837 with 2725 barrels of sperm oil . A second voyage to the Pacific Ocean leaving New Bedford on November 19 , 1837 and returning august 21 , 1841 with 2538 barrels of sperm oil . On its third trip to the Pacific , sailing December 22 , 1841 , the ship was condemned at the Sandwich Islands in 1845 , but shipped home 5850 barrels of oil .
