GERMAN “ JEWELED ” SILVER COMMEMORATIVE DISH , last half of the 19 th Century , in remembrance of Saxon Monarch ’ s Augustus III and Maria Josepha , mark of Richard Garten , Dresden , active 1860-1905 , of oval form with ruffled wavy rim , richly embossed and chased with conjoined portrait roundels , the cavetto deeply embossed and finely chased with conjoined medallion portraits of Augustus III and Maria Josepha of Saxony , identified by encircling Latin inscriptions , with dates of birth in flanking spandrels , and coronation date of 17 Januari 1734 surmounting ; crown , crossed swords , robust fruits , and applied green stone and carnelian “ jewels ” add further embellishment .
