Veterans participating included the legendary Tuskegee Airmen and Doolittle Raiders from World War II, veterans of D-Day, Iwo Jima, and the Battle of the Bulge, Medal of Honor recipients from Vietnam and Afghanistan, and young service members recently wounded while serving on the front lines. Delivering keynote remarks were General P.X. Kelley, former Commandant of the United States Marine Corps, who led the effort to build the National World War II Memorial, as well as American Veterans Center Honorary Chairman General Richard B.
