Smiles from Sandy
Local Red Crossers Choua Vang and Claudia
Kelly share a smile while deployed helping
those affected by Superstorm Sandy. More
than 100 local Red Cross volunteers headed
east, some for months at a time, to provide
comfort to families and help them find hope
as started to rebuild.
Dozens of other Red Crossers from all
parts of the Northern Minnesota Region
deployed across the country to support relief
operations including the Sandyhook tragedy,
Boston Marathon bombing and Oklahoma
tornadoes. So many others continued to
volunteer here at home, mobilizing volunteers
for deployment and responding to disasters
in our own backyard. From New Hope to New
Jersey, our local Red Crossers were there
helping neighbors and new friends in need.
