(2), were staying with a sister in the Fond du Lac neighborhood of Duluth when

Brother Saves 2-year-old Sister with Red Cross Skills
The American Red Cross Northern Minnesota Region’s 2012 Heroes Awards
recipients included a teenage boy who performed life-saving CPR on his sister,
Denison, who performed life-saving CPR on his 2-year-old sister, learned CPR in
health class at Cloquet High School.
Survivors of Apartment Fire Grateful to Red Cross
On Friday, March 9, 2012, a ?re burned an apartment building in Minneapolis,
displacing more than 30 residents. Kimberlee Overvold and Carl Robinsen
were among the survivors. The Red Cross responded to this disaster, providing
residents with a warm and safe place to stay while starting their recovery.
Red Cross + Hope = Safer Neighborhoods
Armed with Red Cross ?re safety tips, seventy Hope Worldwide volunteers hit
the streets of the Phillips neighborhood in Minneapolis to spread the word on
household ?re safety. Local Red Crossers trained the Hope Worldwide volunteers
on ?re safety and gave them tip sheets to share. Smoke detectors were donated
by the Minneapolis Fire Department. Projects like these strenghthen our
partnerships and help make our community more resilient.
