As you crest the last hill on the way to
Sonoita, toward Arizona’s Boulder Crest
Retreat, the dirt transforms from gray
to red and Mt. Wrightson comes into full
view. At just over 9400 feet it’s the tallest
peak in Arizona’s Santa Rita mountains.
Many know this area as Arizona’s wine
county and this Sonoita American
Viticulture Area produces a number of
award-winning wines – some that have
been served in the White House.
