Michelin Scorcher Sport Tires on LiveWire Greenville, South Carolina based Michelin North America has announced that a custom-designed Scorcher Sport tire is Harley's OE fitment tire of choice on the LiveWire. Co-developed and co-branded with Harley- Davidson, the tire is "designed to enhance the ride and handling performance of Harley-Davidson’s first electric motorcycle, leading a planned portfolio of electric two-wheelers aimed to establish Harley-Davidson as the leader in the electrification of motorcycles. The Scorcher Sport tire integrates Michelin’s innovative Dual Compound Technology (2CT and 2CT+), the most advanced compounds ever used in Michelin Scorcher tires. These compounds extend the performance of the tire range by providing outstanding levels of wet and dry grip. Along with advanced compounds developed through years of sport radial tire innovation and extensive track testing, this technology enables the tire to provide wear resistance in the center of the tread, with optimized grip on the shoulders, and also features a radial casing tuned specifically to extract the maximum performance from the LiveWire. "The distinctive tread pattern and patented velvet sidewall design complement the styling of the innovative Harley- Davidson motorcycle." Michelin says that it invests more than $770 million in research and development annually and that for this project its engineers worked directly with Harley- Davidson for two years to co-design the tire specifically for the LiveWire. Headquartered in Greenville, S.C., Michelin North America employs about 22,700 people and operates 19 major manufacturing plants. www.michelinman.com AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Announces Class of 2019 The Pickerington, Ohio based AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame will welcome five new inductees during the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Dec. 6 at the Hilton Columbus Downtown in Columbus, Ohio.
