BRP has issued a recall for certain 2025 Can-Am Origin and Pulse electric motorcycles. The breather valve may not seal properly and allow moisture or water to enter the high voltage battery. Water in the battery can result in a loss of drive power and it could lead to a battery fire when parked or riding. Some 478 units are affected.
RideApart has reported that Harley- Davidson Japan has been hit with a $ 1.4m fine after an anti-monopoly investigation. The Japanese authority investigated for almost a year before announcing its decision. That saga started in July 2024 when Japan ' s Federal Trade Commission first raided Harley-Davidson Japan ' s offices and placed the subsidiary of the American company under formal investigation. The ' beef ' was allegations of excessive quotas placed on dealerships under contract to Harley Japan since around 2020. According to those allegations, dealers were told that if they did not meet the ever-increasing sales quotas, they could lose their contracts and face non-renewal in the future.
June saw Harley announce a recall affecting over 82,000 Softail models built between 2018 and 2024. The issue lies with the rear shock pre-load adjuster, specifically the mounting tab can break, potentially allowing the adjuster to rub against the rear tire.
Evan Schipper has acquired Gateway H-D from Matt Chiappetta and merge it with Doc ' s H-D to form St. Louis Harley-Davidson. Gateway served St. Louis since 1948 having been originally established as Broadway Harley-Davidson by WWII veteran and AMA Hall of Famer Earl Widman. The dealership relocated to its current site near I-55 and historic Route 66 in 2002. The location, now renamed St. Louis Harley-Davidson, offers sweeping views of the iconic Gateway Arch. Schipper now operates five dealerships across the Midwest, including stores in Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, and Ohio. PSB reports that the consolidation reflects an ongoing trend among multi-store operators seeking efficiency and market strength in the powersports retail landscape. Chiappetta will continue to operate Open Road Harley-Davidson in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin.
