CUSTOMBIKE 2024

Bad Salzuflen / Germany

November 29 - December 1

Show Report by Horst ' Motographer ' Rösler
Theoretically challenged by the surprising date change announcement for a now annual INTERMOT at Cologne ( in the first week of December ), the organizers of CUSTOMBIKE took the smart decision of moving the show a week earlier to avoid any clash . That said , any date within six weeks of Christmas is always a challenge for any kind of shows in Europe , but custom motorcycle enthusiasts in Europe are a loyal tribe and creatures of habit so , in truth , the new date was more of a problem for INTERMOT - it practically excluded them from ever being able to recapture the traction and momentum
it had started to gain in the custom market in the days when the AMD World Championship was staged there . Notwithstanding the two years lost through Covid ( 2020 and 2021 ) this was the 19th year for a show whose traditional start date has always been around the end of November and start of December . Held in three halls , with many traditional event highlights , CUSTOMBIKE lived up to its expectations with new parts , bike premieres and a 252-bike competition that fulfilled its ' European Championship ' billing . Some of the best custom bikes from all over Europe , many of them seen here for the first time , attracted a huge number of visitors from all over Europe to visited he show on all event days . More than 1,000 modified or customized motorcycles were on display in total - in the bike shows ,
on exhibitor booths , displays and on some of the ' Special ' exhibits . The event facility - Messe Bad Salzuflen , around half an hour south of Hannover - has been organizing the event since 2022 , with the former owner ' s magazine ' Custombike ' having survived the financial trauma triggered by the Covid years and reemerged to continue as the organizer of the massive bike show , adding fresh content to the popular stage program . As in 2023 , the bike show was powered with a € 5,000 cheque for the ' Best of Show ' Winner and the title of ' European Champion ', while the other
