Gift of the Baker/Pisano Collection, 2001.9.108 Mary Frank is known for her clay sculptures and for her monotypes, two very disparate art forms. Frank studied modern dance with Martha Graham and art with Max Beckmann and briefly with Hans Hofmann, although she is largely self-taught as a sculptor and, presumably, as a printer of monotypes as well. Frank, winner of two Guggenheim Foundation fellowships
