AVIER GOMEZ, is an
influe-philanthropical
cultural arts educator,
promoter and philanthropist
insuring that the residents
of Ventura County have the
opportunity to experience the rich
heritage of Mexico through the
Traditional Arts. A tireless, cultural
arts worker unifying artists and
spectators alike to interact in a shared
experience in order to preserve the
cultural identity of the Mexican soul.
Since 1972, he has created numerous
cultural events celebrating the rich and
diverse traditional heritage of Mexico;
staging them throughout the county
for the past 40 years; Javier Gomez is
a retired educator from Oxnard College
and as a 33 year bilingual teacher for
the Oxnard School District. In addition
is an author, poet, Mexican Folklorico
dance and Mariachi music instructor,
historian,stage/film actor, director,
playwright, producer, California Arts
Council’s Artist-in-Residency Grant
recipient, Cultural Arts leader promoter,
philanthropist, humanitarian and loving
parent and husband.
