What kind of name is manasses you might ask …sounds kind of inappropriate huh? Well that’s what the confederates called the battle of bull runs. This battle was important or whatever, because I mean it WAS the FIRST major land battle of the American Civil War in 1861. This all started because people had beef with the Confederates and wanted to end the rebellion, you already know who were the rebellion enders…THE UNION. Both of the armies were inexperienced and McDowell’s Union didn’t come through for him to have a successful attack…seems like no ones reliable these days. Luckily, the Confederates were at a disadvantage…but they fought it out and horrifically realized that the battle was a long ways from over. On to the second battle of manasses, hahaha who can get over that word?! Approximately 10,000 from the Union were killed and wounded..TEN THOUSAND! About 8,300 people were killed and wounded from the confederates. The Union’s leader was John Pope and the Confederate’s leader was Robert E. Lee. Basically Union wasn’t bout it, ended up running from a fight that they started. WHERE THEY DO THAT AT ?
Heck is a Manasses?!
