The prohibition was not favored with most people. Some people, along with the government thought that the act of making purchasing alcohol illegal would be effective, but most people ignored the law and drank it anyway. People met in speakeasies, that were illegal saloons, and drank illegal liquor. you were able to brew your own liquor, but you couldn’t sell it or buy any. Since the amount of liquor went down the amount of crime went up and the # of deaths too. There is not prohibition act and people are allowed to drink out in public but they cant drink and drive. There is a lot more caar accidents then there were back then.
