For a step into nature, look no further than the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains where you’ ll find the Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian Trail. Best time to go: Generally, spring( March-May) and autumn( September-November) are thought the best time to explore, as temperatures are warm but the humidity is lower than summer( June- August). Winters( December-February) are usually mild.
