Unmissable Tennessee Experiences
Southern States- Tennessee

Tennessee

Iconic music, nature and cities
Whether you want to tune in to the music resonating through its vibrant cities, feast on authentic southern cuisine, reflect on the stories of civil rights leaders, or absorb the beauty of its spectacular outdoors, Tennessee delivers all this and more.
Aptly named Music City, Nashville’ s boasts an electrifying multi-genre music scene and a myriad of attractions. Top of your to-do list should be the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum along with Music Row, the Ryman Auditorium, historic RCA Studio B or, the Johnny Cash Museum. Be sure to catch a live performance at the Grand Ole Opry, the Bluebird Café or along the Honky Tonk Highway. If music wasn’ t enough of a draw, the city’ s art scene is also making waves, plus talented local chefs have put Nashville on the culinary map. Key sites in musically-rich Memphis include iconic Beale Street, which while famous as the birthplace of the blues, is also known for its live music clubs alive with jazz, rock‘ n’ roll, R & B, soul and gospel. See Sun Studio where a veritable roll call of musical royalty began their recording careers, visit the Memphis Music Hall of Fame, the Memphis Rock‘ n’ Soul Museum, Stax Museum of American Soul Music or Graceland. We also recommend the National Civil Rights Museum, the historic Peabody Hotel and some lip-smacking barbecue. In Chattanooga, you’ ll want to see the famous Chattanooga Choo Choo but should also take the Incline Railway up Lookout Mountain for views of seven states, and enjoy the revitalised RiverWalk which is scattered with city parks and restaurants.
For time outdoors, it has to be the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Shared with North Carolina, the park is a hiker’ s paradise with numerous trails of varying ability allowing you to experience the stunning scenery and diverse wildlife. Your gateway to this wonderland is Gatlinburg whose attractions include the Gatlinburg SkyLift, SkyBridge and SkyTrail.
Artsy Knoxville, in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, is a gem of a city with a walkable downtown, an ale trail, a growing number of distilleries, and a collection of historic homes that showcase eras in its past.
For family fun head to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge where you can ride high-speed coasters or fairground rides, catch a parade and tour Dolly Parton’ s museum. A neighbouring water park is ideal in the summer months.
