DAY 1 Boston / Cape Cod
Collect your hire car and drive southeast out of the city towards the beautiful crescentshaped Cape Cod peninsula . Fringed with hundreds of miles of sandy coastline where magnificent whales migrate just off-shore , not to mention quintessential towns , quaint villages , charming lighthouses and the freshest seafood , the Cape is just the place to rest and recharge .
DAY 2 Cape Cod
Each town has its own distinct personality , so try and explore as many as you can ! Hyannis , the busy hub of Cape Cod , is a favourite with sailors and also famous as the home of the Kennedy clan . From Hyannis , it ’ s just a short ferry ride to nearby Nantucket or Martha ’ s Vineyard . Decidedly maritime Chatham is a classic New England town with a picturesque lighthouse , pristine beaches , wild barrier islands , chic boutiques and trendy eateries . Attractive Sandwich is the Cape ’ s oldest town and welcomes visitors with long beaches , museums , galleries and antique shops . Falmouth has a lively music , art and theatre scene whilst also popular with beach lovers and watersport enthusiasts . Provincetown , at the tip of this curving peninsula , is home to an array of museums and art galleries plus has plenty of beaches and miles of walking or cycling paths .
DAY 3 Cape Cod
If you ’ re not content to stroll around towns and villages , while away the day on a glorious stretch of sand , step out on one of the many walking trails , play a round of golf , or head out on a boat trip in a quest to spot whales or other sea life . Various boat tours depart from a variety of harbours along the Cape Cod peninsula . Cape Cod is also home to a selection of craft breweries and award-winning wineries , with tours and tastings offered at most ! It ’ s also one of the top 25 arts destinations in the country thanks to its wealth of galleries , art studios , museums , craft shops and music festivals .
DAY 4 Cape Cod
All too soon , it ’ s time to return to the city where your short tour concludes . Alternatively , why not extend your stay and explore even more of New England ?
