DAY 1 Fly to New York
On arrival make your own way to your hotel and later, meet your Tour Director.
DAY 2 New York
This morning embark on a city tour of New York which will take in some of the most famous sights of Manhattan including its famous skyline. The rest of today is at leisure for you to continue exploring the Big Apple as you wish. Perhaps take a stroll through Central Park, get a bird’ s eye view from atop a skyscraper or maybe admire the exhibits of the Met. Whatever you choose to see and do, have your camera at the ready!
DAY 3 New York / Niagara Falls
Leave the city that never sleeps behind and travel to upstate New York through the Finger Lakes Countryside along Lake Seneca, named after the Seneca Indian Nation. The region brims with wineries and you’ ll make a stop in Watkins Glen to sample some of the local wine, before continuing westbound for Niagara Falls.
DAY 4 Niagara Falls / Pennsylvania Dutch Country
The morning is yours to explore this incredible natural wonder. Perhaps take a boat ride for an up close view of this thundering wall of water( at extra expense), find a lunch spot overlooking the falls, or stroll around Niagara Falls State Park where multiple lookout points await. Depart Niagara and travel into Pennsylvania Dutch country, also known as Amish Country.
DAY 5 Pennsylvania Dutch Country / Washington, D. C.
Travel through the Appalachian Mountains along the picturesque Susquehanna River, the longest river on the American East Coast. Visit the historic Gettysburg Civil War National Battleground, site of the largest battle ever fought on American soil, and the place where President Lincoln gave his famous address in 1863. From here, you will journey to the nation’ s capital, Washington, D. C., where you have the option to join a memorable evening tour and dinner( at extra expense).
DAY 6 Washington, D. C.
Highlights of today’ s tour include the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the White House and Arlington National Cemetery, site of the JFK Memorial. Spend the remainder of the day exploring some of the many museums comprising the Smithsonian Institute or simply stroll the banks of the Potomac River.
DAY 7 Washington, D. C./ Philadelphia
The journey continues to Philadelphia, the“ City of Brotherly Love” and the birthplace of America, where the Declaration of Independence was adopted on 4th July 1776. Here, during a comprehensive city tour, you will see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.
DAY 8 Philadelphia / New York
Travel back to New York City where your tour concludes with your onward journey.
