Photography is a visual art. It can emotionally envelope the viewer. It can cause a person to see themselves differently, in a way that they could never see themselves otherwise. It can change perspectives about ourselves or other people. This is the force that drives my photography. It’s a desire to display the beauty of women in a way that leaves them marveling in their own beauty – in a healthy way.

I feel very fortunate to have had my art collide with Jean’s artful prose. The photographs speak for themselves, but Jean has extracted and added a new voice to them, giving my work a new life. Creating a new art, per se.

In my art, I’ve always attempted to extract a person’s beauty photographically. Jean pulls even more from the subject. She reaches beyond the physical appearance and extracts their soul and places it into prose. She takes information that I pass on to her about my subject and reflects on what the images says to her. From that she creates prose specifically about the subject and marries the art forms. That’s the goal of our collaboration. We create artful images that display a woman’s beauty, and then embed the image with a custom written prose that positively speaks of the person in the image.

I love the resulting art form. It’s more than a photograph. It’s capturing the soul.
