How To Use

in More Than One Window

If you ’ re like us , you have started to use Microsoft

Teams for a lot more than just Chat over the past year . Combining Teams , Channels , and Tasks by Planner allows you to organize your business like never before ! But when you do this , you realize a slight disadvantage . Once you need to “ chat ” someone , you need to navigate from the channel you are working in , disrupting your train of thought .
Well , we ’ re happy to say that we have figured out a pretty good workaround ! Combining the Teams Desktop application and the Web application allows you to work on two ( or more ) screens . See instructions below for how to set up Teams Chat in a separate window :
• Open up Teams on the web using Google Chrome ( https :// teams . microsoft . com )
• Navigate to the Chat section .
• On the upper right-hand side of your window , click on the three dots . > Navigate to “ More Tools ” > “ Create Shortcut ”.
• Name it , and click on the box “ Open as window ”.
• You will see the icon on your taskbar . Right-click it and select “ Pin to taskbar ”.
• Now you can easily access the Chat section of Teams in a second window . You can use the same instructions to set a shortcut for any section of Teams .
