As we spend each semester living, studying, traveling, and growing alongside inspiring young people, we have the
unique privilege of witnessing students’ marked personal growth during their four months at Alzar School. The
most rewarding part of our job is watching the power of the Alzar School experience play out in alumni lives and
in their communities long after they return from their semester in Idaho and Chile.
Stemming from a deep-seated belief that education can be more than academic subjects taught in isolation
in traditional classrooms, we founded Alzar School. We saw an opportunity to build leaders by leveraging the
personal growth and self confidence that comes from outdoor adventure, the broadened perspective that
comes from cultural exchange, and the critical thinking and discipline that comes from a challenging academic
curriculum which connects to the students’ lives. We are fortunate and grateful to work with a team of dedicated,
passionate educators to craft a semester that changes lives.
We believe in the power of education, the power of new experiences, and the power of Alzar School.
