Gathered around The Sacred Fire Photo: Shavanne Fourmile What have we LEARNED from the past? What is WORTH BRINGING FORWARD? What kind of CHANGE are we BRINGING FORWARD? It is there I met tribal Prince Datu Kilala Lanelio Sangcoan from Philippines, young leader in a remote Philippine community. Lanelio stood out of the Circle with his sharing and Visions ~ but also with the work he has done so far. Lanelio was asked by the Philippine Tribal Elders to put up a school in the forest to create an opportunity for Tribal Children to get education that is an integration of their culture, tradition and values. With support of Donors Lanelio established HILLTOP TRIBAL SCHOOL OF HOPE which gives opportunity to educate 218 children on the top of the Mount Malindawag Lubilan, a remote forest area of Philippines! HILLTOP TRIBAL SCHOOL helps children to engage deeper in activities that bring sustainable development for Tribal Communities. School runs mainly with help & support of donors. 'If they are educated with the mastery of our culture, we will be sure that they are walking on the tract for the brighter future of the communities and they won't be deceived by the outsiders, but rather be the Catalyst for the Change.' - Datu Kilala Lanelio Sangcoan Photo: Tribal School of Hope 21
