Surprise me you did flew.
How I didn’t at first seem to notice that the wings of The Dao or Way, in which I was practising (qi gong)
would make my life far more & more interesting.
My Journey in martial arts began when I was 20. A style designed by a women Yip Wing Chun. The styles
name “Wing Chun Kung Fu” from China additionally I began training at the same academy Chinese Qi
Gong. (Qi Gong is similar to Tai Chi, however a lot - 5000 years - older and is very diverse from Medical,
Martial Arts to Spiritual. Tai Chi is a form of Qi Gong.
Once opening this door I watched the gradually shedding of bad habits smoking, drinking, negative
thought patterns about myself and others. Changing gradually, naturally and joyfully.
Like all of us I had my past to shake off but thankfully as an eternal optimist I have always had a
curiosity of what is bright and enigmatic.
I was a diligent student which gave me a solid base. I trained 5-6days a week and practised qi gong every
day, sometimes twice a day. At my peak of martial arts I would wake up at 3am train 3.5 hours of hard qi
gong and climb back into bed for the best sleep of my life and be up at 8am for training jogging or Kung
Fu. I was competing Wing Chun verses Muay Thai (Thai kick boxing) while teaching at an academy in
Melbourne.
The martial arts gave me an edge in my discipline and strengthened my will, to that of an iron bar.
What I really took from the practise Qi Gong was a sense of peace and nurturing that comes about
through blending with nature daily.
I left the academy after seven years and travelled Asia. Wishing to train the things that challenged what I
knew & what I knew nothing of. I trained at “Shaolin Tagou School” the largest martial arts school in the
world (10,000 students). 3 months Intensive Yoga in India and countless Himalayan Mountain Peaks.
I loved to find new naturally locations to practise be it a waterfall or a jungle lagoon.
