NUHS News New affiliation agreement with the Medical College of Wisconsin to create new clinical opportunity for students NUHS chiropractic students will now have the opportunity to participate in a preceptorship program with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in Milwaukee as part of a new affiliation agreement with NUHS. The program will provide broad clinical experience in an integrative environment that includes chiropractors, physical therapists, pain psychologists, nurses, physician assistants, physiatrists and neurosurgeons. Students who participate will obtain advanced knowledge and skills in chiropractic clinical care, patient interaction and inter-professional collaboration. Read more. Pride Club Program Addresses Transgender Experiences with Medical Professionals Increasing knowledge about and sensitivity to the unique needs of transgender medical patients and massage clients was the topic of discussion at the Pride Medical Alliance club (PMA) meeting on March 4 at National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Ill. Massage Therapy Students Meet Their Textbook Author On March 11, Massage Therapy Program students were treated to a campus visit by Ruth Werner, the author of their program textbook, A Massage Therapist’s Guide to Pathology. Every NUHS massage therapy student was able to meet and ask questions of the internationally-known educator, who specializes in research and the role of massage therapy for people looking for ways to help manage their health. NUHS Selected to Host National SACA Conference National University of Health Sciences has been selected to host the 2019 Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA) Leadership Conference, September 6-8, at its Lombard, Ill., campus. The theme is “Excellence is Our Standard.” The American Chiropractic Association’s Leadership Conference Planning Committee noted that they were “extremely impressed with the detailed information…provided about the conference theme, goals and logistics.” They also cited “tremendous support” from NUHS President Joseph Stiefel, the chapter’s faculty advisor Dr. Dana Madigan, and university administrators.
