Greetings from the President
attendance shared their pride and certainly respect for the student driven initiative . Each time I make my way to Florida for the event , I wonder if the students will continue this fantastic tradition .
Several years ago , after visiting with family and friends in the auditorium of our Florida site , I was helping to usher the first trimester students , resplendent with their newly received white coats , to the White Coat Ceremony reception in the vestibule of the clinic . Much to my surprise , I found the 9 th and 10th Trimester interns lining both sides of the hallway just outside of the auditorium . The interns had formed up and were clapping and cheering for the new students as they and their families made their way down the hall to the reception .
Regarding traditions , you will undoubtedly have noticed that the annual homecoming tradition is missing from this year ’ s calendar . Over the past several years , we have seen a decline in the number of attendees for the event . Despite rave reviews from those that have attended , many of our students and alumni have taken advantage of other post-graduate offerings from the College of Professional Studies or have found the push and pull of modern living too difficult for their busy schedules . Additionally , there are just many more ways to connect to the University on a daily basis than there were five or ten years ago . The Alumni department is taking stock in the feedback they receive to identify new opportunities to connect with our alumni across the world . That being said , if you are planning to attend Florida Chiropractic Association ’ s convention in August , please make it a point to stop by our booth and come to our reception . This will be the 15th year we will celebrate the Florida site ’ s students , faculty and staff .

It was absolutely inspiring to see the appreciation for the support from the upper trimester students on their faces . There was a sense of “ We know what you ’ re going through , and we ’ ve got your back !” The faculty in
