George Lauder Bursary 2026 – USA Study Opportunity Awarded!
Two outstanding Fife College students, Freya Buckridge and Cain Paterson, are the recipients of the 2026 George Lauder Bursary, securing a fully funded opportunity to live and study in the USA this summer.
Funded by the Saint Andrew’ s Society of the State of New York, the prestigious bursary covers travel, accommodation and living costs, allowing the winners to study for up to two months at an educational institution within 250 miles of New York State.
Freya, an HND 3D Interior Design student from Dunfermline, plans to study in New York City, with interests in interior and set design.
The awards were presented at a celebratory lunch at the College’ s new Dunfermline City Campus, attended by staff, former bursary recipients and William Garner, great-great-grandson of George Lauder.
Our 2025 winners, Erin Fox and Cameron Reid, also attended the event, sharing reflections on their own“ lifechanging” USA study experiences.
Congratulations to Freya and Cain as they prepare to follow in the footsteps of previous George Lauder Bursary recipients and represent Fife College in the USA. Visit fife. ac. uk to read the full story.
Cain, from Glenrothes, is a former Fife College student now studying Architectural Technology at Edinburgh Napier University and hopes to focus on urban architecture in New York.
