Throughout my journey , I found the program ' s resources consistently available and supportive , allowing me to balance professional responsibilities with academic pursuits effectively .
Akua Sutherland , MSN ‘ 24 College of Nursing
One standout experience was my clinical rotation in the Dominican Republic , where I served immigrant Haitian communities residing on sugar cane farms . This experience not only deepened my understanding of healthcare disparities but also reinforced the importance of compassionate care in underserved populations .
Ashanti Carter ' s journey is one of resilience , faith , and dedication to education and health equity . Despite facing many personal challenges , including being involved in a car accident with her husband — where they were hit by a drunk driver — undergoing surgery , and supporting her aging parents , Dr .
