The road trip experience was quite memorable for her as well as getting to learn first-hand the history of Rwanda. Also, the fact that many of the lecturers are practitioners in their respective fields made Daisy feel confident of the quality of education she was getting at USIU-Africa. Her advice to those considering USIU-Africa for their studies, is that they should join and have an open mind towards learning from the multi-cultural environment offered.

Landing in the communication field

How did Daisy find herself in Communications after successfully pursuing International Relations in school? Aside from her chatty and outgoing personality which fit well with Communications work, Daisy is also a great public speaker. Something a few of her lecturers had pointed out to her during class presentations and even floated around the idea of her doing something media related. They saw a talent in her that she was not yet aware of. It was only after school when Daisy got engaged in projects that involved marketing, sales and writing that she realized Media was an area she wanted to pursue.

Regardless, she still appreciates her I.R. background which equipped her with valuable knowledge and skills that differentiate her from her media counterparts.

Future Plans

Daisy is grateful for the financial support she received during her studies which greatly empowered her. So far, she is proud of having started her own firm and looks forward to working on incredible projects, creating opportunities for youth and building her personal brand. Ultimately, she intends to be graded amongst the great and to provide a positive role model to young people.

Parting Shot

We should all take responsibility for our dreams and go for what we want.
