have achieved.”
The squadron was pleased to have
Wg. Cmdr. Griffiths as its Guest of
Honour. The Wg. Cmdr. shared his
thoughts towards the evening and the
squadron;
and
started
by
congratulating the squadron for a “very
busy and successful year”. The Wg.
Cmdr. mentioned some of these
achievements in sports, participation in
the Cosford Air Show and Large Model
Aircraft Rally and the recent adoption
of the local branch of the Royal Air
Force Association.
Don
Rhodes,
the
squadron’s
Civilian Committee Chairman, spoke
about how “the squadron has never
been as strong as it is now.” He paid
thanks to the uniformed and civilian
members of the squadron along with
the “help and support” of the members
of the civilian committee. The chairman
announced that the civilian committee
has set themselves a challenge to
replace the squadron minibus with a
newer and larger model. The squadron
held a bag packing session at
Sainsbury’s Telford Forge Retail Park
on Saturday 16th November to help
raise funds for the new minibus.

With the Dam busters March
theme music playing, Sgt. Street gave
the command for FS. Frost to march
the squadron banner out of the dinner
hall.
Throughout the evening, there was an
obvious theme centered around the
attack on the German dams; and
remembering all of the lives lost due to
the bombings.
The top table retired to the lounge,
while Mr Vice carried out ‘Irish Bingo’
as entertainment. Similar to classic
bingo, if a number on a player’s bingo
card is called out, they are out of the
game. Well done to Cdt. A. Cooper and
Cdt. Morjaria who decided to share the
winning prize between themselves!
To conclude the evening, all cadets
gathered on the ornate staircase for a
photograph. ?
