How to turn an old t-shirt into a cute shoulder bag
Materials:
1 old t-shirt
Sewing machine
Thread in your choice of colour
Pins
Scissors
10cm x 1m fabric for the strap
Safety pin
BAG
1. Mark a line between the under arm of each sleeve on each side of the shirt and cut,
2. Turn the shirt inside-out and fold the new edge over 1cm and iron flat. Fold the edge over another 1cm and pin down. Straight stitch along the edge of the fold.
3. If the t-shirt has a fringe like mine turn the shirt right way out again, if not leave it inside-out. Straight stich 1cm away from the bottom of the fringe or bag.
4. Turn inside-out if it isn’t already
STRAP
1. Place the fabric with the right side facing up and fold in half
2. Pin along the edge and straight stitch 5mm away from the edge
3. Push a safety pin through one side of the fabric and push in through the opening, threading fabric over it to help you turn the strap right side out.
4. Tuck in the raw edges and straight stich to hem them
5. Straight stich the strap to each end of the bag so the stitching matched up with the hem stitching of the bag so its neat
