Alpine, TEXAS 04 The Heart of the Big Bend One of the Best Places to Live in Texas elcome to Alpine – the seat of Brewster County and home to Sul Ross State University and the Museum of the Big Bend. With over 6,000 residents, Alpine is the largest town in the Big Bend region and serves as the “Hub of the Big Bend.” There’s lots to love about this vibrant town: mild climate, mountain views, a lively art scene and strong community spirit.
