Upcoming at the Museum of the Big Bend
Five Centuries of Mexican Maps
September 20-December 15, 2019
The Museum of the Big Bend will highlight select
Mexican maps from the Museum’s Yana and Marty Map
Collection. The exhibit will feature over 50 maps from
this significant collection that celebrates the art of
cartography in Mexico. This exhibit is held in conjunction
with the Texas Map Society’s annual meeting. Opening
reception is Friday, September 20th. Free and open to

Plein Air Painters of the Four Corners
January 17–March 22, 2020
Curated by Stephen Unger, Aztec, New
Mexico, members from the Plein Air Painters
of the Four Corners return to the Museum of
the Big Bend to show their works
interpreting the vast and majestic Big Bend
region. All works will be for sale benefitting
both the artist and the Museum. Opening reception is Friday, January 18
with featured artists in attendance. Workshops and demonstrations are
scheduled during the weekend. Free and open to the public.
