Four Mindful Tools
to Add to Your Daily Routine
We don’t feel acknowledged by our
partners, we go shopping. We feel
overwhelmed with work, we go for drinks.
We feel helpless, we go for Ben & Jerry’s.
These instant gratification actions we
commonly reach out to for stressreduction purposes provide us temporary
comfort and feel-good feeling. But,
wouldn’t you prefer to have this feel-good
feeling, always? I do. The thing is that we
have been looking for feel-good-feelings
in all the wrong places: clothes, cars,
shoes, alcohol, praise, vacations and
even praise.
What do we value the most? Our
partners, our kids, our parents, our
career. Now, what makes us stressful?
Usually, our partners, our kids, our
parents and our careers. It’s ironic that
what we most value can also provide us
with so much anxiety and tension. The
more we do, the more we want to do and
the more we feel we never do everything
we need to do.
