IN MAY, a team of Allure
Medical Spa doctors and
staff traveled to Palpa, Peru,
for one week to perform
life-saving surgeries on
local people in need.
Our team carried over 30
suitcases of medical supplies
and gear to the hospital.
Before getting started, we
taped off the windows
in the operating rooms,
with black garbage bags
to keep the rooms from
overheating from the sun.
We performed gall bladder
removals, hernia repairs and
removed several tumors
in children. Dr. Pesta even
assisted in delivering a baby
via C-section. We worked
with local hospital helpers
to see as many patients
as we could. We were so
moved by this experience
and the people we met
that most of us left our
personal clothing for the
local residents to keep.
This was such a rewarding
experience. We look
forward to doing more
mission trips in the future.
