FEELING
OVERWHELMED
& BURNT OUT?
IT’S TIME TO RECOVER, RECHARGE & ROCK IT!
LIFE IS busy. We are under stress. We go
from one thing to the next and often don’t
allow ourselves to breathe in between.
There is a constant barrage of emails,
phone calls, people wanting us, and
mile long to-do lists hanging over our
heads. It can feel hard to get a handle
on things and most of the time people
will push through thinking that if they
slow down, they will shut down.
The truth is, we need time to slow
down. Our bodies need time to
recover and recharge. Our brains
need time to shut off, so that we can
have a healthy mental outlook.
One of the most important things you
can do for your body, especially if you
exercise regularly, is to allow recovery and
recharge time. Taking time to let your body
recover helps prevent injuries, burnout
and induces healing. It’s vital if you want
to be at your best. Otherwise you will be
at risk of body and soul deterioration.
Here are the steps I take to make sure I
am recovering and recharging, so I can
continue to rock it on a daily basis.
SLEEP TO RECHARGE
Getting enough sleep on a regular basis, not
just the weekends, is imperative to stellar
health and recovery. When you are asleep,
your body heals; it’s hard at work repairing
and recharging. Studies have shown that
healthy sleep habits actually ‘reboot’ your
brain, making room for new knowledge.
I see sleep as a key to a successful life,
which includes your fitness, your health,
your relationships and your career.
It’s important to have a bedtime routine
to wind down from your day and to get

at least 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Your
bedroom is a place for sleeping, not
working or watching TV. Turning your
bedroom into a sanctuary will help you to
have quality sleep and recovery time. Turn
your electronics off at least an hour before
bed, or better yet remove them fr
