BEAUTYBYSYRINGE W I TH N I CO L E S TA PP, MS N , W HN P - B A C The way patients and physicians interact has forever changed with the growing importance of social media. Social media interaction has become adopted across all generations, making it a great way to reach prospective patients. We sat down with Nicole Stapp, MSN, WHNP-BAC, who recently started her instagram handle @beautybysyringe to educate, broaden her patient base and engage with her existing patients. How exactly are you using Instagram to get a larger patient base? The Instagram platform provides users with a fun, less formal type of entertainment/procedure research. People are curious about the results that I can provide them but are not necessarily ready to come in for a formal consult. I am focusing on that gap, using Instagram to let potential patients see what is possible and draw them in, letting them see real results rather than paid models or actors. What made you want to start using Instagram to display your work? I was following some injectors on my personal Instagram. I really enjoyed watching their techniques. There is this stigma that filler and botox will make you look fake or plastic. I wanted to showcase the fact that what I do is enhance my patient‘s natural beauty. I also enjoy letting people see the patient/provider interactions and hopefully ease any reservations or anxiety that they may have about coming and getting a little #beautybysyringe. Since you have started posting on Instagram, are you getting more patients from this? Absolutely, it is a great starting point for anyone who is curious about restoring some youth to their appearance or correcting some minor flaws. It warms them up to the idea and possibilities. How has this helped your business? I get a lot of private messages about specific techniques, and people asking for procedure recommendations. It is nice because I can already have a rapport with my patient when I meet them for the first time. I believe these makes the experience more enjoyable and less stressful for them. 30 Nicole, left, learning from the best at the 2018 Beauty Metrics Master Class in New York City
