What Is A Sprain?
A sprain is a common exercise related injury. The
definition of a sprain is a stretch or tear of a
ligament (which connects bone to bone). Later I
will tell you about how you might sprain your ankle
and how to treat them.
How You Can Hurt Your Ankle
Hurt ankles can occur when you are walking or running
especially if you trip on or in something and come down
on your ankle weird. Broken ankles can occur when you
kick something that is hard very hard. Not wearing
proper shoes or not replacing shoes when they start to
wear out can also cause these injuries.
HOW TO TREAT HURT ANKLES
The most common way to
treat hurt ankles is rest, ice,
compression and elevation
(RICE) and taking an over the
counter medicine to help with
painkilling and/or inflammation.
After 1-2 days of this start gently
stretching but don’t over do it.
