Showcase
A
llen ISD hosted its first ever Diversity Showcase on
March 29 in the Performing Arts Center Commons.
The event was created to help highlight the unique
cultural backgrounds that students bring to our school district.
The event featured student performances of cultural
significance, including Bollywood dances, a German polka band,
and traditional Irish dances. Dozens of tables were also set up by
student groups including the Korean Club, the African Student
Organization, and the American Sign Language Club, to speak
with visitors and provide information.
“It was inspiring to see people of all different backgrounds
clapping and supporting the students that performed today,”
Diversity Committee Chair Richard Jordan said. “Tonight
proved that Allen is all about being together and supporting each
and every student.”
