SHORTS Wrestling Team Wins Ninth State Title Seven wrestlers won state titles leading the Allen Eagles to their ninth consecutive state championship. Thirteen boys and one girl qualified for the UIL 6A state tournament. Of those, six boys won their weight class and three more won second place. Senior Alex Liles won her fourth consecutive state title in the girls’ division.  The Eagles scored 253 points for the title with Arlington Martin in second place (116 points) and El Paso Franklin in third (86 points). The state championship Allen wrestlers included Braxton Brown (106 lbs.), Logan Brown (126), Trent Dooley (138), Juwan Robinson (160), Braeden Redlin (170) and AJ Ferrari (195). Second place finishers included: Gabe Martinez (113), Elise Brown Ton (145) and Johnny Green (285).  Alex Liles won the girls 128-pound division. Archery Team Wins Fifth State Championship The Allen Archery team won its fifth consecutive state championship and qualified the team for the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) National Championships. Allen Senior Dorothy Cobb set a new tournament record score with 297 points out of 300. She finished in first place out of 2,133 archers. This is the sixth year in a row for Allen to produce a female State Champion. The AHS Archery Team won the Texas State Championship in the National Archery in School Program competition. Eagles Swimmer Wins 100-meter Backstroke Championship AHS senior Jason Park won the Class 6A state championship in the 100-meter backstroke by setting a new record for the event. Jason’s time at the swimming and diving championships was 47.09. He is the first Allen swimmer to win gold at the state meet since 2001. 24 Members of the Swimming and Diving Team were honored at the Allen ISD School Board meeting.
