13 Allen ISD Musicians Selected for All-State Ensembles
Thirteen Allen ISD Fine Arts students have been selected for All-State Ensembles by the Texas Music Educators Association ( TMEA ).
The 2018 All-State Band members are :
• Allen High School – Zachary Bynum , David Chen , Daniel Cho , Gabrielle Harvatin , Jasmine Hoffman , Nathan Kim , Jessica Mingee , Kaylee Smith , and Marissa Xiong .
The 2018 All-State Orchestra members are :
• Lowery Freshman Center – Lauren Jin
• Allen High School – Edward Cho , Wenting Du , and Cody Jones .
Band students completed the audition process on Jan . 13 and orchestra students were notified of their selection in late November . These students performed a concert before the TMEA membership on Feb . 17 in San Antonio . Before the concert , the student musicians participated in three days of intensive rehearsals with outstanding guest conductors . Congratulations to these talented students !
Four students from Allen were selected for the All-State Orchestra Ensemble .
A total of nine Allen High School students were selected to the All-State Band Ensemble .
