Dr. Scott Niven, Allen ISD Superintendent of Schools Superintendent’s Corner W elcome to SOAR, a new magazine focused on Allen ISD news and accomplishments. While our district website and newsletter provide timely information, SOAR will take a closer look at the students and staff who make up the Allen Independent School District. This month we are proud to recognize, among others, a world class archer, our new band director, our newest school namesake and the man everyone called Papa. Expanding our communication efforts is one of five goals our school district has identified in the new strategic plan approved by the Board of Trustees on July 24. Resources: Leverage all opportunities to create and sustain a successful learning organization. Develop and implement a long-range financial plan to support student success. Organizational and Instructional Effectiveness and Efficiency: Ensure optimum use of resources and operation and systems. Communication and Community Engagement: Purposefully promote and communicate the message of our vision of excellence to our stakeholders, business and surrounding community, the extended social media community, and in state, national, and international venues.
